Family Matters is an American series about African-American family living in Chicago. The series aired from September 19, 1989 to July 17, 1998. Family matter was originally adapt as a working class version of The Cosby Show featuring the extended family.
The series starring Harriet Winslow and Carl Winslow, Harriet husband and a Chicago police and a lovable father to three kids. Her three kids was Eddie WInslows, the rebel son; Laura Winslow ,the smart daughter and cute little Judy Winslow. They opened their homes to Harriet's sister,Rachel Crawford and her little baby son Richie and to his mother Estelle Winslow. Winslow family is a normal family except for one thing, their neighbor Stephen Urkel, a genius and make some really weird inventions while driving the Winslow insane. Urkel was the ultimate nerd who had a crush to Laura. The behavior of Urkel makes them uneasy but Harriet, however, was more understanding. As a years past, Urkel developed a transformation to allow himself to change into suave Stefan Urkel, whom Laura fell for and eventually fell in love with him. Carl promoted to rank of the captain. In the later years, Urkel moved with the Winslows family while Judy, dissapeared from the scene without explanation. Family Matter had a great success and is one of the longest running African-American comedies ever.
